codetools.run is a collection of free, browser-based developer utilities. This page explains what data is and is not collected when you use the site. The short version: every tool runs entirely in your browser, and we do not collect, store or transmit the content you paste, type or upload into any of the tools.

1. Information We Collect

Tool Inputs

The data you enter into any tool on codetools.run (JSON, JWT tokens, regex patterns, images, passwords, hashes and so on) is processed locally in your browser using native Web APIs. It is never sent to our servers, because we do not run any servers that process user input. Nothing is logged on our end.

Server Logs

Like most websites, our hosting provider logs basic request metadata such as IP address, user agent, referrer and requested URL. These logs are used only for security and operational purposes (for example, blocking abusive traffic) and are not used to build a profile of you. They are rotated and deleted on a rolling schedule.

Cookies and Local Storage

codetools.run itself does not set first-party tracking cookies. Some tools may use your browser's local storage to remember preferences (for example, a theme choice or a last-used setting). This data stays on your device and is never transmitted.

2. Third-Party Services

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate usage (page views, country-level location, device type, traffic source). Google Analytics sets its own cookies and may process IP addresses. We do not link analytics data to any personal identifier. You can opt out installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out browser add-on.

Google AdSense

codetools.run displays ads served by Google AdSense to keep all tools free. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our sites and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings or via aboutads.info. For more information about how Google handles data when you use our partners' sites or apps, see Google's Partner Sites policy.

Hosted Fonts and Assets

Web fonts (Inter and JetBrains Mono) are served via Google Fonts. Loading them may transmit your IP address to Google as part of the standard HTTP request.

3. How We Use Information

The aggregate analytics data we collect through Google Analytics is used to understand which tools are popular, fix bugs reported by usage patterns and decide what to build next. We do not sell, rent or share your data with third parties beyond the named services listed above. We do not run email campaigns, build user profiles or remarket to you.

4. Children's Privacy

codetools.run is intended for software developers and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has interacted with the site in a way that involves personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

5. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Because we do not store personal data on our servers, there is generally nothing for us to provide, correct or delete. For data held by Google (Analytics and AdSense), please use Google's own tools to access and manage it. EU and UK users can exercise their GDPR rights with Google directly. California residents can exercise their CCPA rights with Google directly.

6. Security

The site is served over HTTPS with HSTS enforced. Because no user input is transmitted to our servers, the surface area for data breaches involving tool content is effectively zero. We still apply standard security headers (X-Content-Type-Options, X-Frame-Options, Referrer-Policy, Permissions-Policy) to harden the site against common attacks.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we add a new analytics provider or change our hosting setup. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the site after a change implies acceptance of the updated policy.

8. Contact

Questions about this policy or about data on the site can be sent to appium.ltd@gmail.com.
